Calyon, Mandated Joint Lead Arranger and Bookrunner of a GBP 2,193 million financing for Air Tanker

Calyon acted as one of seven mandated Lead Arrangers and Bookrunners on a GBP 2,193 million Future Strategic Tanker Aircraft (FSTA) after four years of effort. Calyon's involvement in FSTA reflects its expertise in project finance.

FSTA is the biggest Private Finance Initiative (PFI) deal in the market. This financial agreement was reached with the UK Ministry of Defence in March 2008.

In 2004, the Air Tanker consortium consisted of EADS (40%), Rolls-Royce (20%), Thales (13.3%), VT (13.3%) and Cobham (13.3%). It was named successful bidder by the UK Ministry of Defence for the procurement of replacement military tanker aircraft, with a 27-year concession.
