Calyon, Bookrunner, "Wakil" (seller) and Facility Agent of a USD 150 million Syndicated Commodity Murabaha Financing facility on behalf of Alliance Bank

Calyon acted as sole Bookrunner, "Wakil" (Seller) and Facility Agent of a USD 150 million Syndicated Commodity Murabaha Financing facility on behalf of Alliance Bank, one of Kazakhstan's leading banks.
The facility was arranged on a best efforts basis jointly with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), who acted as Shariah advisor.

A very successful syndication was launched at USD 50 million and closed at USD 150 million.
There were a large variety of investors: 17 banks committed, predominantly from the Middle Eastern region and specialised in the Islamic sector.
The facility is split between a 370-day and a two-year tranche, with respectively USD 85 million and USD 65 million in each tranche.

The syndication will be used to promote and finance Alliance Bank's Islamic trade-finance activities.

Calyon also sold two swaps related to this transaction: a USD 65 million 2-year snow range swap and a USD 85 million 1-year snow range swap.
