Calyon has won an emea finance achievement award for the bank's efforts and success in 2007. The award won is: Best Project Finance House - Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). One of the most visible transactions having allowed to obtain this award is the acquisition financing of Budapest Airport.

On June 6th 2007, Calyon successfully closed as mandated lead arranger the limited recourse financing of the acquisition of 75% of Budapest Airport Zrt (the Concessionaire of Budapest Airport) from British Airport Authority (BAA), by Hochtief Airport (100% Hochtief) and its equity partners (Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec, Singapore Investment Corporation and KfW).

The transaction demonstrates Calyon's capacity to "succeed together", as it required a close and continuous cooperation between SFI (Airports Coverage and Infrastructure Project Finance), Calyon Germany, Calyon Hungary, Syndication and DMC.

This resulted into a cross-selling achievement, with:

• project finance facilities for EUR 1,520 million (of which EUR 190 million for Calyon),
• a LC facility for Hochtief AG in the amount of EUR 400 million as a club deal, where Calyon Frankfurt committted EUR 50 million. The facility serves to support deferred equity commitments by HTA,
• structured interest rate swaps for EUR 1,020 million (of which EUR 130 million for Calyon). Calyon also acts as bookrunner, swap coordinator and environment bank.
