		January 2007 - Calyon, a leader in project finance in Asia! Calyon received wide recognition in 2006 for its dynamic growth in the project finance arena in Asia, and, in particular, won two highly prestigious awards: The Asset Magazine's "Best Project Finance House of the Year 2006" and Project Finance International's "Bank of the Year 2006, Asia-Pacific".

Calyon strengthened its leadership position in the Asian project finance market in 2006, completing 23 deals in the region in some 10 countries (including Japan, Australia, India and China) and in a wide variety of sectors including, among others, power generation, oil, gas, coal, transport, water and telecommunications.

An additional indication of Calyon's strength in Asia is that it is frequently asked by Asian companies to assist them in implementing their international expansion strategies, and has achieved several "firsts":

• Calyon was the advisor and lead bank for the first financing on behalf of a Chinese company of a major overseas project, the Sonangol Sinopec International transaction.
• Calyon was involved in the
• Reliance Petroleum deal, one of the largest project finance transactions in India since the Asian crisis and the largest US dollar deal for an Indian entity.
• Calyon took part in the first domestic infrastructure financing arranged jointly by Korean and foreign banks for the
• tramway project in Uijeongbu (South Korea).

• "Asia-Pacific Telecom Deal of the Year" (PFI) for eMobile's 3.5G mobile project in Japan.

• RiverCity Motorway project in Australia.
• "Europe-Middle East-Africa Oil & Gas Deal of the Year" (PFI) for the
• Sonangol Sinopec International offshore oilfield in Angola.
• "Europe-Middle East-Africa Petrochemical Deal of the Year" (PFI) for the SEPC ethylene complex in Saudi Arabia.
