Electronic Banking service in PECO

The Internet based system OPTIM CLIC of CALYON was introduced in the PECO region in 2001 to provide a standard product, with a comprehensive solution for paying, receiving and cash management activities.
The vision was to gain competitive advantage by providing a flexible, Internet based electronic banking service, which can adapt to the business processes of local and international clients with centralised treasuries. Since that time, OPTIM CLIC has been further improved to provide the most flexible interfacing capability among our competitors.

Comprehensive solution for clients

The electronic banking tool provides a complete range of electronic banking services: local & international payment orders, direct debits, direct credits, account statements, financial information, cash management board, secure mail, accounts held with other banks.
The OPTIM CLIC service provides full interfacing capabilities to efficiently import all payment types, and export account statements or miscellaneous business information. The interface thus provides full automation to and from the client accounting / ERP system, eliminating data entry in the electronic banking system. Furthermore, the technology of the interface allows the Bank to quickly adapt the Client interface format by simple parameterisation. On the Bank's side, the full straight through processing allowed by OPTIM CLIC is also very efficient in terms of costs and risks.

Efficient service for large corporate clients

Efficiency of the banking service is a key factor for large groups in choosing a banking partner. Dalkia Polska S.A. has been an OPTIM-CLIC client since 2002/2003. The Dalkia group has a high volume of payments through CALYON. As eleven Dalkia subsidiaries are installed with our electronic banking tool in Poland, a gradual increase has been witnessed in the flows of the group via OPTIM CLIC. The OPTIM CLIC provides such flexible interfacing compatibility that an interface was quickly developed for Testa, the local accounting system of Dalkia.
The integration of OPTIM-CLIC with the internal system of "Golden Telecom", a provider of telecom services in Ukraine, enables us to help to fully automate billing process, which is extremely important for company that has more than 12,000 transactions per month. Such a development strengthened CALYON position as the cash management provider.

Quickly adapting to changing needs of clients

The most crucial need of large clients is full automation of electronic payments and the availability of up-to-date financial information. The Colas group was installed with the OPTIM CLIC electronic banking service in mid 1994. Interfaces were developed for Colas group members. Since that time, the COLAS group had adopted the JD Edwards ERP system, which we could quickly interface with OPTIM CLIC.

OPTIM CLIC provides an ideal solution to the geographically spread-out client group subsidiaries. Hachette Distribution Services in Hungary, with 17 locations in the countryside, was supplied with the OPTIM CLIC electronic banking product in 2003. The centralised treasury department and managers of the subsidiaries appreciate the quick, real-time functionality and information provided by OPTIM CLIC. The electronic banking system was interfaced with the SAP R/3 system for Hachette Distribution Services in Hungary.
The possibility to connect OPTIM CLIC with the SAP R/3 system enables Calyon to be the main provider of cash management service for such powerful USA companies as Philip Morris, Procter & Gamble in Ukraine, despite strong competition from Citibank.

Looking Ahead

In order to maintain our competitive advantage, OPTIM CLIC's features are continually improved in the PECO region. By the 1st quarter of 2007, the electronic banking service will also provide a Treasury Reporting module, including projected balances and entries to our clients.
