Why did you choose to work in the company?
I was interested in working in a company that has presence internationally. When I first applied for Calyon, Calyon was in its first year of recruiting new graduates. Calyon Tokyo had fully acknowledged my personal preference and introduced me to the world of Project and Export Finance. Calyon is one of the leading banks in the world for both of these product lines, and I thought Calyon would be the perfect place to start my career, given the enough resource Calyon has around the world.
What do you appreciate in your work?
I was astounded when I was first exposed to Calyon's diverse, worldwide network. From France to Japan to Brazil to Russia to U.S. to India… yes, the list keeps going. Resource is always available everywhere; on a daily basis I could quickly contact a member at such country to have any questions answered. I could also contact people abroad to get specific advice on an ongoing project. This broad Calyon network is very essential for executing Project Finance and Export Finance transactions, and I believe that this network is part of our strong incentive to originate new projects as well as to provide the best solutions for our clients.Why would you recommend Calyon to young graduates?
I believe the best part about Calyon is that Calyon is an entity that is aggressively growing along with its members. Our presence here in Tokyo is improving everyday, and even newcomers like I are taking responsibilities that one may not experience at such early stage. This may become stressful at times, but having such responsibility as a Calyon member will definitely bring an impact to one's personal growth. It will also have an impact to Calyon itself, because the most essential part of Calyon is the people working for the company. Calyon members, including myself, are the ones who will bring improvement and growth to the company, and I especially recommend young graduates to join and take part of this excellent global team.
