The bank has been present in the Middle-East for more than 50 years. Besides Saudi Arabia, Calyon has operations in UAE, Yemen, Iran, Lebanon and Egypt. In the UAE, the bank was established in 1975 under a full banking licence from the UAE Central Bank with 2 branches, one in Dubai and one in Abu Dhabi. More recently, the bank also obtained a licence to operate its Investment Banking activities from Dubai's DIFC. As a result of our long standing presence and commitment to the region, Calyon is well recognised in the fields of Capital Markets and Financing.   • Aircraft finance:

Our Bahrain branch is home to Calyon's Global Islamic Banking Division. This division proposes - in coordination with the concerned coverage our Product lines- ShariaIslamic law as revealed in the Quran and through the example of Prophet Muhammad.

Sharia Board is the committee of Islamic scholars available to an Islamic financial institution for guidance and supervision in the development of Sharia compliant products.
