Calyon Bahrain caters to the needs of the Bank's regional and multi national corporate clients. Coverage extends to Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The entire array of Calyon products are marketed to our clients ranging from Structured finance, Conventional or Islamic to Capital Markets and Investment Banking.

Structured finance
 

  • Trade finance:

The Bank offers all trade finance services for corporate and financial institutions. Products include import/ export letters of credit, documentary collections, guarantees, advising and confirmation of L/Cs.
 

  • Export & project finance:

Professional teams worldwide qualified to develop innovative solutions and provide their know-how to arrange projects financing. Calyon is one of the major players in project finance in the region specializing in the sectors of Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Power and Telecoms.
 

  • Aircraft finance:

The Bank is a major actor in the area for more than 20 years, and offers its clients a global ability as advisor, arranger and lender with expertise in financial advisory services, guaranteed export financing (Airbus, Boeing, others), syndicated commercial credits, financial leases, tax leases, off-balance structure and fuel hedging.

Global Islamic Banking

Calyon has been active in Islamic banking since as early as in the mid-80s, offering MurabahaA form of credit which enables customers to make a purchase without having to take out an interest bearing loan. The bank buys an item and then sells it on to the customer on a deferred basis.
 (deposit taking) and set up a dedicated Global Islamic Banking Department team in 2004. Based in Bahrain, the team covers a variety of products for corporate and institutional clients and offers financing and capital market products, investment and hedging vehicles, as well as retail investment and insurance products.

Our expertise in Islamic banking is already recognized by customers, peers and the financial market: in 2007, Calyon has received three awards from Islamic Finance News , the world's global islamic finance news provider.
