We have a renowned expertise in financial advisory services and the structuring of non-recourse loans for new projects and privatisations. The bank and bond financing we put into place involves commercial banks and export credit agencies, and/or multilateral organisations.  | Equator Principles | Calyon has been the only French bank among ten banks worldwide to have promoted, since 2003, compliance with the social and financial development standards for project finance established by the International Financial Corporation (IFC). The IFC's standards were revised in 2006. The new version of these so-called Equator Principles were adopted by 33 banks, including Calyon on July 6, 2006, making them an international standard in project financing.


 | Oil and Gas | Over the years Calyon has developed extensive specific knowledge of the oil, gas and petrochemicals sectors at the global level and has solid expertise in financing the major players in these markets. We have also developed special skills in financing the development of oil and gas reserves, the liquefied natural gas cycle (liquefaction, transportation and re-gasification) and oil and gas pipelines.


 | Power | Calyon's project finance teams also have acknowledged experience worldwide in both regulated and deregulated electrical power markets. We have managed a large number of private power plant financing projects, including several which have been exceptionally innovative.

For years, Calyon has had credible references as both a financial advisor and a financing arranger in the areas of complex and/or innovative financial structures for the financing of transportation infrastructure projects (roads, ports, airports and rail infrastructure).


 | Public-private partnerships (PPP) | Calyon has been involved in the market for Private Finance Initiatives (PFI) since 1996, and has played the role of lead arranger for transactions in the construction, road and health sectors. We have also taken an active role in developing regulations for French partnership agreements and are the leader in the French market for prison, hospital, road and rail infrastructure projects.
At a global level, Calyon has structured financing transactions and innovative approaches within the framework of PPPs, succeeding in establishing meaningful relationships and participating in in-depth discussions with multilateral organisations and government bodies in many countries.


 | Environment | Both as financial arranger and advisor, Calyon has extensive experience around the world in the financing of environmental projects in the areas of water treatment and distribution, waste management and the outsourcing of services.
