Calyon is Co-Arranger and Mandated Lead Arranger of a Structured financing transaction related to the discount by Orascom Telecom of its receivables due by MTC - Atheer (Zain) for the acquisition by MTC- Zain, the Kuwaiti Telecom operator, of Orascom assets in Iraq.

Calyon is the only international bank in the transaction and was invited by MTC- Zain due to its extremely close relationship with the company.

The USD 1,125 billion financing which has an average life of one year was arranged on a club basis and it was vasty oversubscribed with our initilal USD 200 mios commitment being reduced to USD 150 mios.
