Structured Finance

The Structured Finance business consists in originating, structuring, and financing operations involving large-scale exports and investments in France and abroad, often backed by collateral security (e.g. aircraft, ships, corporate real estate, or commodities), as well as complex and structured loans.

The Structured Finance division comprises nine finance segments: aviation and rail / shipping finance / tax-based leases / natural resources, infrastructure and power / real estate and lodging / export and trade finance / acquisition finance / transactional commodity finance / structured finance advisory.

Air transportation and rail financing With its over 35 years long experience in the field, Calyon gives preference to lasting relationships with its customers. The expertise of its teams is recognized worldwide in the air and rail transportation markets.
Shipping finance Active in this field for 30 years now, Calyon ranks amongst the world's leading banks in shipping finance. It finances a modern and diversified fleet of over 1,150 ships for an international customer base of ship-owners.
Tax-based leases Calyon specialists implement optimised asset-financing arrangements that are adapted to the major investments made by its clients in order to benefit from a substantial reduction in the cost of financing their investments.
 Natural resources, infrastructure, power Calyon's sectoral competencies enhance its expertise in the areas of financial advisory and arrangement of project finance, commodities and natural resources. With over 150 professional staff worldwide distributed amongst its regional centres of expertise, Calyon ranks amongst the leading banks in Europe in this area.
Structured Finance Advisory Calyon is a market leader in Project Finance advisory in all sectors (oil, gas, power, metals, mines and infrastructures) and has broadened its advisory offer to all structured finance products.
 Real estate and lodging With its intimate knowledge of the real estate and lodging sectors Calyon has a unique worldwide expertise. This business line lines up 140 professionals, based in 12 countries.
Export & Trade finance With almost 140 recognised professionals based in about 40 countries, the global Export and trade finance product line is providing our exporting, importing and investing customers a complete product range including all the banking services and financing products in the field of international trade. Acquisition finance With 80 professionals in Europe, Asia and US, the product line provides private equity funds with a tailormade range of services. This range is at all stages of their business life.
Transactional commodity finance The transactional commodity finance team is active in three areas viz Energy (oil and by products, coal and biofuels), soft commodities and metals.
