With its over 35 years long experience in the field, Calyon gives preference to lasting relationships with its customers. The expertise of its teams is recognized worldwide in the air and rail transportation markets.

Recognized expertise

Active for over 35 years in this area, Calyon is one of the world leaders in aircraft financing. The bank finances aircraft (passenger and cargo planes, business jets) operated by commercial airlines or private individuals. It offers its customers (airlines, aircraft or engine hire companies, airports, industrialists) a broad range of products and expertise in cooperation with Calyon’s several product lines.

In 2008, Calyon financed over 130 civil aircraft under bilateral agreements and continued financing portfolios of aircraft and engines leased out to leasing companies.

Several deals have been prized during the year and Calyon was acclaimed “Aircraft Finance House of the Year” for the fourth year running by Jane’s Transport Finance magazine.

In the area of railroad financing Calyon was distinguished for the first time since this activity began in 2005 for its financing of the take over of Angel Trains recognized “European Rail Deal of the Year” by Jane’s Transport Finance magazine.

An integrated global business line

The Aviation group is an integrated worldwide business line with teams in Paris, New York, Dubai, Hong Kong and Tokyo. Specialized in air transportation, these teams are organized on a one stop shopping basis, i.e. each client is followed by a senior banker in charge of a customer portfolio who centralizes all the services.

Rail activity is performed from New York and Paris.
